NEW HORIZON?

Navigate your way to a

fulfilling future with coaching

Why Coaching?

Hi, I'm Jamie, I coach people to discover purpose and direction in their lives so that they can experience a greater sense of fulfilment and meaning.

As your coach, I'll work with you to identify your unique goals and create a personalized plan of action that is both challenging and achievable. I'll help you gain clarity and perspective on your current situation through active listening and targeted questioning. Then together, we'll explore new mindsets, challenge limiting beliefs, and unlock your true potential, enabling you to positively impact the world around you.

My approach is grounded in proven techniques and strategies while remaining flexible and adaptable to your needs and preferences.

If you're ready to take control of your life, break free from limiting patterns, achieve your most meaningful goals and expand your horizons, let's connect and begin the journey together.

Life direction

My coaching experience

Since March 2021, I've had the honour of working with incredible coaching clients in a variety of areas.

From helping professionals experiencing burnout to guiding individuals on a journey of self-discovery and career transition, it's been a joy to witness my clients transform and grow.

Together, we've tackled challenges such as self-sabotage, imposter syndrome, and setting new personal goals. We've explored life purpose, career direction, and self-esteem and worked on stress management or achieving work-life balance.

I've had the privilege of coaching people from all walks of life, including professionals in large-scale technology companies, leaders in large organizations, and individuals at a career crossroads.

But what I value most is working with anyone open to making positive changes in their life. Let's work together to overcome obstacles, seize opportunities, and create a life that is truly fulfilling and meaningful.

Who am I?

Hello, my name is Jamie Kirk,

I started my coaching journey in March 2021. I've been trained and certified through the Coaching Training Institute (CPCC) and the International Coaching Federation (ACC). Over the past 2 years, I've been coaching clients predominantly in large organisations to get more fulfilment, clarity and direction in their professional and personal lives.

I've been working in tech for over a decade - leading teams as a Product Manager for large UK and international brands in Telecommunications [ EE ], the Sports Industry [Adidas] and eCommerce [John Lewis]. See my LinkedIn

I am an adventurer. Being on my bike is my happy place, and thanks to coaching, I found the courage to do my dream sabbatical in 2021 to cycle from Scotland to Greece.

In 2017 I experienced burnout at work. Working with my coach at the time led me to re-orientate my world so I could perform at my best in the workplace and bring more balance to my life. My drive is to allow my coaching clients to experience their own similar transformation.

I am Scottish and consider Amsterdam my home today.

Testimonials

What my clients say about me

Jamie is an inspiring, humble and warm coach. During a couple of months, he supported me to not only better understand myself but also take action. He struck a great balance between making me feel like I was being guided and enabling me to make decisions for myself and come to my own conclusions. I can’t recommend Jamie and coaching enough - it’s been a fantastic experience for me and ultimately has enabled me to make a step-change in a number of areas in my life!

I learned so much about myself through Jamie's coaching and feel I have a new outlook on work. Jamie is a professional through and through. He was incredibly supportive, and it’s clear he is passionate about helping people. If you’re struggling and feeling trapped like I was I highly recommend working with Jamie to take back control of your life.

Jamie's coaching gave me the space and time to put some focus and attention on an often overlooked area of my life (fun & recreation) and helped me make the transition from a job where I was over-working and not pursuing my own interests to a new position where I could foster a better sense of work-life balance.

I think of Jamie as my neurosurgeon. We worked together for five months to re-wire facets about myself with very positive results. Looking forward to future sessions together. I am in great hands.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Am I the right coach for you?

2. What to expect when you get coached by me?

Here's an overview of the main agenda topics from some of my previous clients: 1. A client trying to decide if they should stay in a stable yet unsatisfying role or transition to achieve a more fulfilling but risky job. 2. Building confidence when a client has imposter syndrome in their new role. 3. A client that feels overwhelmed and burnout by not having the correct work-life balance.  4. A high-performing individual drained by internal politics in large companies and want to gain more fulfilment in their role.  5. A client with a physical health condition that was impacting her overall mental health and confidence in several areas of their life.  6. A client that wanted more personal growth in their life after spending several years focusing on being a new parent.

You will start with a no-obligation complementary taster session where you can find out if coaching is right for you. You will find a non-judgemental, safe space that will truly allow you to open up and be your authentic self and clarify what topic you would like to be coached on. If you decide to progress we'll then have a discovery session to dive deeply into what you want to get out of coaching.   We'll typically have around 10 sessions tailored to your agenda, roughly a session every 2 weeks over a peroid of 6 months.   There will be homework in between sessions to integrate the elements learned during our coaching sessions.  We'll also have some fun and laughs along the journey.

3. What's my coaching style?

4. What's the difference between Coaching and Therapy?

My services are built upon my core belief that happiness and fulfilment in life come about when people discover and follow their true inner passion and do what they love. As your coach, I aim to help my clients live fulfilling, balanced lives — working with them to, first, set goals that will add to their lives; and, second, achieve those goals. I love connecting with people on a deep level and I will challenge you to take action. I will function as a sounding board, plus offer support, encouragement, feedback, and direction for people stepping beyond their current situation. If you are "here" and want to be "there," I can help bridge that gap by offering my experience, my guidance, and my can-do spirit. Finally, I also like to have tons fun in my coaching sessions too.

Coaching and therapy are two distinct types of support that serve different purposes.  Coaching generally focuses on the present and the future. It's a method to help individuals achieve specific goals or improve their performance in a particular area of their life, such as work or relationships. Coaches work with their clients to identify areas for improvement, develop action plans, and hold them accountable for making progress. Therapy, on the other hand is typically focused on helping individuals address and overcome emotional, mental health, or behavioural issues caused by previous trauma. In short, Therapy can be more in-depth and focused on the underlying causes of a person's issues, while coaching is more geared towards developing specific skills and strategies for achieving specific goals.
