MY STORY

I love to guide my clients to find their authentic selves and turn their great perceived weaknesses into their greatest superpowers.

This is my story.

Childhood 👶🏻

Once upon a time, there was a little boy called Jamie. He had a happy childhood, but as long as Jamie could remember, he worried about many things. He felt like he wasn’t good enough. He was an only child that often felt all alone. But as they say, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The gift Jamie had been given was that he was extremely aware of his emotions - they were always present just below the surface. This gave him a deep level of empathy and the ability to connect with others on a deep level. All of this energy - the good and the bad - was taken by Jamie as he grew up.

Pushing to be the best 🥇

He worried about school, friends, and what he wanted to be when he grew up…so much worry. This worrying pushed Jamie - to be the best in the classroom and the best in his swimming team and when he entered the workforce, to be the best in business. But nothing stopped the worrying. Nothing stopped the anxiety. It wasn’t always there, but it was just below the surface. Jamie’s “inner child” didn’t care about sports trophies, good grades or the good salary - it just wanted to feel seen, loved and cherished.

Dream Job and Burnout 📈📉

He kept focusing on external achievement rather than looking inside himself. After years of the rat race and climbing the corporate ladder - with all of this drive he managed to land his “dream job” in his “dream company”. But this dream turned into a nightmare. He left all his friends and family behind and moved to a new country for this job. But instead of feeling a sense of achievement, he felt alone and isolated. This constant push to be the best had gotten him so far in his career but without ever stopping to think about what was important to him, and now he just felt overwhelmed. For the 18 months he was there, he felt lost in a fog until one day, he had enough. His body and mind staged a “revolution” - enough was enough. He closed his laptop and walked out of the office, fully burnt out, not knowing where to turn.

A new direction 🧭

This was a break that Jamie needed to re-evaluate his life and ask different questions to find different answers. He started looking more inward - through self-examination and therapy. This lit a fire of curiosity within Jamie. Coincidentally his girlfriend at the time was doing coaching training - the more Jamie heard the more he felt like this could be a real calling for him. So he decided to start learning to become a coach.

His journey for coaching so far 🚲

Within the first hour into the introduction coaching course, he knew he was in the right place - he had found his home. The emotional pain he had felt as a little boy now proved a gift to him as he found that he had an amazing ability to connect to people on a deep level. It was like he had been injected with purpose - he was hooked. With the coaching process, Jamie took action to reorientate his professional life to achieve more work-life balance and create sustainable habits that have prevented future burnouts and allowed him to thrive in the workplace. Coaching also gave him the courage to do his dream in 2021, take a work sabbatical, and cycle across Europe from Scotland to Greece with his girlfriend. At the finish line of the epic odyssey got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend. This experience pushed Jamie out of his comfort zone and made him achieve something he didn't think was possible. Coaching had given Jamie so much, so he wanted to train to become a coach and give back to his clients.

Coaching superpower 🦸‍♂️

At this point, Jamie realised he could be his own life story's author. He used his life experiences to connect deeply with his coaching clients - seeing them as naturally creative, resourceful and whole. Like he did with himself he often shifted people's perspective that their greatest perceived weakness might in fact be their greatest superpower. Through deep empathy and his calls to action, he evoked transformation in his clients to reach for the horizon and achieve things they didn't think were possible...
